The Prince of Wales Plans to Join UN Climate Conference in South America

The Prince of Wales is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in Brazil next month, as announced by royal officials.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event leading up to the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

Father and son were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the United Kingdom administration.

Climate Leadership Dedication

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of protecting nature - and Prince William has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio before the UN meeting.

Royal sources have described Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as assuming an important role in "climate diplomacy".

Recent Engagements

The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were greeted participants featuring environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and politicians.

This involvement featured addresses in concert with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other international figures at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco during the current year.

Environmental Prize Link

The COP30 summit will align with the William's personal climate innovation prizes, which will wrap up in the Brazilian city the eve of he joins the COP summit on the sixth of November.

Last week the royal figure referred to the prize competitors as "heroes of our time".

Royal Climate Legacy

King Charles has been a key figure at earlier environmental conferences, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the reminder: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".

"Throughout my life I've dedicated a substantial portion of my life trying to alert people to the critical dangers confronting humanity over global warming, climate change and species extinction," the sovereign addressed participants.
